Local News

MIDVALE, Utah (News4Utah) – Unified Police said one juvenile was in custody Wednesday night after a crash that severely damaged a Midvale home.

The crash happened around 10:30 Wednesday evening. Police said two vehicles were traveling northbound on Monroe Street when both drivers lost control and crashed into the home at 142 West Columbia Drive.

Both drivers fled the scene, according to police. Lt. Brian Lohrke with UPD said an officer located one of the suspects at a nearby church and deployed a Taser on him when he did not comply, taking him into custody.

The other suspect and possibly more vehicle occupants are still at large.

No one was injured in the crash, and the residents have now boarded up the area where the garage door was taken out. Also damaged were a street sign and a basketball hoop.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Unified Police Dept. of Greater Salt Lake.
