John Curtis speaks at Sandy town hall

SANDY (News4Utah) – Utah’s newest congressman continues his tour of town hall meetings as he spoke face to face with constituents this morning in Sandy.

Republican Third District Representative John Curtis says he’s held 22 of these gatherings over the last six weeks to hear the concerns of the citizens he represents. These days, people are asking him about the economy, steel tariffs and gun control.

While Curtis is an advocate for Second Amendment rights, he is in favor of steps to make citizens safer.

“My feeling is that there are things that can be done that will make a substantial difference and they don’t offend the Second Amendment,” Rep. Curtis told News4Utah. “We just need to push forward with those things that we know will work and are things that we can do right now.”

Representative Curtis does have a background in firearms: In 2000, he and his partners started Action Target, a gun range manufacturing company.
