ROOSEVELT, Utah (News4Utah) The investigation into a Duchesne County’s toddler’s death has been turned over of the Utah Attorney General’s Office.

Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office and Duchesne County Attorney’s Office asked the AG’s Office to take over the investigation to “avoid the potential for conflict of interest” because one of the boy’s primary caregivers has a professional relationship with Duchesne County detectives and prosecutors

On Sunday, Aug. 5, deputies were called to a home north of Roosevelt about 8 a.m. on a report of an unresponsive child.

Upon their arrival, deputies determined the child was dead. His body was taken to the Utah State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy, as required by state law.

No further information was given about the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
