WEST JORDAN (News4Utah)-  Police in West Jordan are looking for a group of people involved in a shooting Sunday night.

The call came in around 6 p.m. near 7000 South 4600 West in West Jordan after reports of shots fired.

Police say it started as an argument between a group of people in a car and another group of people on the sidewalk.

Officer say during the argument the group on the sidewalk threw a rock, breaking one of the car windows. That’s when, investigators say, someone in the car pulled out a gun and fired shots at the group.

When officers arrived on scene both groups had fled but the gold car involved in the shooting was still on scene.

Sgt. J.C. Holt with West Jordan Police said later one man who had been shot showed up at a local hospital with some non-life threatening injuries. It is believed he was involved in the incident.

Investigators say they aren’t sure if the argument was gang related.

At this point no arrests have been made.

This is a developing story. Updates will be posted as they become available.
