Husband and wife slip and fall off of waterfall

FARMINGTON, Utah (ABC4 Utah)- What started as a fun family outing turned quickly into a heart wrenching disaster after a mom and dad slipped off of a waterfall.

Police say the couple was hiking with their teenage children and friends Sunday night on the Davis Creek Trail when the accident happened.

Lt. Shane Archibald with Davis County Sheriff’s Office said the mom lost her traction and reached back for her husband to stabilize her, that’s when they both fell.

The fall was about 35-40 feet.

The woman had severe head trauma and was taken by a medical helicopter the hospital. Her husband was transported by ambulance.

It’s unclear what caused the woman to slip.
