SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – Many Utahns are able to turn on their lights now after widespread power outages Monday morning.
At one point, outages throughout the Wasatch Front impacted more than 2,300 customers. This comes as strong winds hit the state. That wind will continue into Monday night, bringing valley rain and mountain snow to Utah.
As of 1:45 p.m., Rocky Mountain Power is reporting 136 outages affecting 850 customers, down from 143 outages and over 2,300 customers at 11:30 a.m.
While the majority of the outages are throughout the Salt Lake Valley and into Tooele and the Ogden area, there are about 80 customers near Cedar City without power.

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – As strong winds continue to impact Utah, many remain without power and have been in the dark since early Monday morning.
As of 11:25 a.m., Rocky Mountain Power is reporting 143 outages affecting over 2,300 customers. The majority of those are within the Salt Lake Valley and into Tooele County.
For many of the outages, Rocky Mountain Power is listing estimated restoration times for this afternoon. For others, there is no estimated restoration time.
The wind is expected to stick around through much of the day, with the chance for winds reaching 70 mph in some areas. This could cause not only power outages, but blowing dust and difficult driving for high-profile vehicles. Over 70 power outages affecting hundreds throughout Wasatch Front

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – Hundreds of Utahns are starting the day in the dark as a strong storm system brings gusty winds and wet weather to the northern and central part of the state.
As of 7:45 a.m. Rocky Mountain Power is reporting 71 outages affecting over 1,100 customers across the Wasatch Front and into northern Utah. The majority of the outages are across the Salt Lake Valley with about 200 customers near Tooele also in the dark.
Crews are working to restore the outages. One of the largest outages, affecting 340 customers near Copperton and Daybreak, is expected to be restored before 8 a.m. For the roughly 300 customers without power near Holladay, there is no estimated restoration time, according to Rocky Mountain Power.

ORIGINAL STORY: Hundreds without power as strong system hits Utah

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – A strong storm system bringing gusty winds and wet weather to Utah has left hundreds without power to start the workweek.
As of 6:15 a.m., Rocky Mountain Power is reporting 43 outages impacting over 1,700 customers throughout the Wasatch Front. The majority of those without power are within Salt Lake County.
Roughly 40 customers are in the dark in Tooele County while about 1,350 in and around Salt Lake City are experiencing outages. Trees are being blamed for some of the outages while others remain under investigation.
Near Sandy, about 400 customers are without power thanks to tree damage. The outage was first reported shortly after midnight and is expected to be restored around 7 a.m., according to Rocky Mountain Power. Another outage affecting 340 near Copperton is expected to be restored around 8 a.m. For roughly 650 customers near Holladay, power should return around 7:30 a.m.
