TOOELE, Utah (ABC 4 News) – On Monday afternoon, wind gusts of up to 70 mph roared through our state — testing those behind the wheel, especially along I-80.
“It’s strenuous, all the way around,” said truck driver Ernie Cummings.
“It was freaky,” said one woman after exiting the freeway.
Troopers say, as of Monday afternoon, they are surprised at the lack of semis or high-profile vehicles toppling over in the wind. But, they note, anything is possible.
“I know there were some pictures today of trampolines blowing around on roadways and things like that,” said Sgt. Nick Street with Utah Highway Patrol.
“Expect the unexpected,” he added.
