How SLCC is helping low-income students pay for college

SALT LAKE CITY (News4Utah) – Salt Lake Community College is helping lessen the burden of college tuition for low-income students.

The Salt Lake Community College Promise Program’s purpose is to provide financial assistance to low-income students who attend the school full-time, but do not receive enough federal financial aid to cover their tuition.

Curtis Larsen, Assistant Vice President for Student Life at Salt Lake Community College, explains more about the program.

Students must meet a few requirements to qualify for assistance from the Promise program. Among them, they must be a Utah resident, a full-time student, receive a Pell grant, and maintain a 2.0 GPA.
