SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) -An 18-year-old man is dead after police say he was involved in a drug-related home invasion Tuesday evening in Salt Lake City.

Sgt. Brandon Shearer with the Salt Lake City Police Department, says just after 10 p.m. officers received a call of a home invasion robbery at Rendon Court.

Investigators say four suspects forced their way into the home and eventually took off in a vehicle.

“At some point, someone from the home shot at the vehicle,” Sgt. Shearer said.

Shortly after that call, officers received a report of a crash with shots fired, near 200 North and 600 West.

Officers who arrived on scene say they found bullet casings on the ground near 300 North 600 West, and the dead 18-year-old inside the car at 200 North 600 West.

That 18-year-old has been identified as Abubakar Mohammad. Police say he was the driver of the vehicle.

“Three suspects fled from that vehicle; they were all taken into custody at the North Temple TRAX station,” said Sgt. Shearer.

18-year-old Jordan Audinette and two 17-year-olds are in custody for the home invasion.

Police say they are talking with the person who fired the shots at the car.

This is a developing story. Updates will be posted as more information becomes available.
