SANDY, Utah (News4Utah) – Hundreds of low income Utahns gathered today at the Mountain America Expo Center for the third annual health and dental fair for the Hispanic community.
The event is specifically geared toward members of the Hispanic community. Telemundo Utah hosted the event to help Spanish speaking Utahns get the dental and health services they need but may not have access to.
“Today is our third annual health and dental fair. So we come together with a lot of our health partners and we put this event together where attendees can come and receive free or low cost screenings.” says Steve Downing, Station Manager, Telemundo Utah.
Their goal was to be able to get around 500 people through dental and medical screenings. Walgreens and community nursing services donated one thousand flu shots for people to get for free or at a discount rate.
