PARK CITY (ABC4 News) – The 2019 Huntsman Cup World Para-Alpine Ski Races wrapped up in Park City Friday.
The event is sanctioned by the International Paralympic Committee and hosted by the National Ability Center for individuals with differing abilities to participate in competitive winter sports.
One participant shared his experience as a para-athlete.
“So, I was born with a birth defect called… which is a birth defect in which the muscles in my body are missing and the ones I do have are stiffened and my joints are contracted… so I race in the men’s standout and I race under LW in my classification…,” said Michael O’Hearn, Huntsman Cup participant.
The event is in its 30th year. It takes place annually at Park City Mountain Resort.
