UTAH COUNTY, Utah (News4Utah) – A deadly crash on eastbound U.S. Highway 6 temporarily closed the roadway in Utah County while a medical helicopter landed Thursday morning, officials said.
One person died and another was flown to hospital in serious condition, according to officials.
Investigators say just after 7 a.m. a white car was headed westbound on SR-6 near milepost 195 when the car began to spin.
There was light rain was in the area at the time, but heavier rain had fallen just before, so troopers roads were wet and there was some standing water.
According to police, the white passenger car crossed into eastbound traffic and collided with an SUV headed in the same direction.
The driver of the white passenger car died on impact, troopers said. He has been identified as 55-year-old Darren B. Holt of Helper, Utah.
The driver of the SUV was transported by Life Flight in serious condition to UVRMC. No other vehicles or persons were involved.
