PARK CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) – Heavy snowfall is believed to be the cause of a roof collapse on a Park City home Tuesday.
According to Park City Battalion Chief Patrick Harwood, a couple that lives in the home was in another part of the house when they heard a loud boom just before to the roof over the dining, kitchen and living room area of the home caved in.
“They reported that they had heard two loud bangs approximately 30 minutes prior and then 1 more loud bang right before it happened,” said Park City Fire District spokesperson Tricia Hazelrigg.
No one was injured in the incident and Harwood said they believe the heavy snow build up on the roof may have led to the collapse.
Currently, the building department is inspecting the home.
