SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (News4Utah) – Students and faculty at Westminster College gathered outside of a Board of Trustees meeting Friday begging them to keep the aviation program alive.
About two dozen protesters held signs at the doors of the building Friday morning as board members arrived.
Advocates of the program say we’re on the edge of a pilot shortage.
But in the end, the board voted to end the aviation program. It will be phased out over the next three years, so none of the current students will be affected.
