SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 News) – With ongoing concerns surrounding the Federal Government shutdown and the financial concerns it is causing Utah families, Governor Gary Herbert is asking you to donate.

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Governor Herbert and Lt. Governor Spencer Cox took to Twitter to ask Utahns to donate to the Utah Food Bank.

In the video posted on Gov. Herbert’s Twitter account, he said, “Utah’s families and neighbors to come together and serve, that is the Utah way and we do it better than anyone.”

While you can make donations to your local food banks, the Utah Food Bank has a virtual food drive. With their buying power, they can create multiple food items out of any donation. If you would like to donate, CLICK HERE.
