UPDATE: The Goose Creek fire near the Utah/Nevada border has burned 132,220 acres and is currently 85% contained, according to a press release issued by the National Incident Management Team.
“Fire activity continues to be minimal as crews mop up and patrol the north and east perimeter fire area while crews continue fireline construction along the southwestern side in order to increase containment. Helicopters will assist firefighters on the line with water drops throughout the day.”

BOX ELDER COUNTY (News4Utah)- Two wildfires in Box Elder County have merged at the Utah/Nevada border. Together officials say they’ve burner over 120,000 acres.
The Goose Creek Fire and combined China Jim Fire is located approximately 13 miles southwest of Grouse Creek, Utah. The community is on standby in case of evacuations.
As of Thursday evening, the fire had burned 122,916 acres and was 70 percent contained.
