If you’ve been waiting to get Google Fiber and you live on Salt Lake City’s west side, now is your chance.

Google Fiber announced Thursday that their service will now be available to even more Salt Lake City residents.

A new service area in Poplar Grove will go online March 12th and additional neighborhoods including Rosepark and Fairpark will be opening later this summer.

Residents living between Poplar Grove Blvd to I-80, Navajo Street to Redwood Road, are now eligible to sign up for the company’s suite of products, including its flagship product, Fiber 1000, which delivers up to 1,000 megabits per second of high-speed symmetrical broadband to their homes.

“Google Fiber is excited to bring our gigabit services to even more residents of Salt Lake City’s west side,” said Jacob Brace, government & community affairs manager for Google Fiber. “Bringing super fast internet to Poplar Grove and nearby neighborhoods creates more access to jobs, education and streaming resources. We look forward to our continued work with Salt Lake City to bring these essential resources to even more communities.”

The newly opened service area is in addition to ongoing availability throughout Salt Lake City, including Sugar House, the East Bench, Jordan Meadows, Westpointe and Downtown.

If you are interested in signing up for the service you can visit Google Fiber’s website to sign up.
