Over the last year, goat yoga has grown in popularity. Yes, yoga with live goats. Utah yoga instructor Jennie Carlson and Davis County goat farmer Alisa Boulter have joined forces to bring goat yoga to the masses.
The farm is a 14-acre farm with 100+ animals including 40 goats as well as chickens, roosters, turkeys, and cows. There is space for 20 students to come and set up their mat on sod.
There are typically 5-7 baby/toddler fainter and pygmy goats that are in ‘The Studio’ during a 90-minute class. The first 30 minutes is a meet & greet with the goats, followed by an hour of vinyasa flow. This class is suitable for all levels.
The yoga class is not like your typical yoga class, besides the goats being there, we do all sorts of poses that will inspire the goats to think ‘jungle gym’ so as to afford as many photo ops as possible.
If you’re interested in participating, prepare for a ton of giggles, squeals and fun during class. Class will be held at the farm at 3763 West 1800 North in West Point.
