German Day of Remembrance held at Fort Douglas

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – About a hundred people braved the chill temperatures this morning to gather at the Fort Douglas Cemetery in Salt Lake.

It was the German Day of Remebrance. They have held this ceremony at Fort Douglas since 1977.

It is known as a very big day in Germany – a combination of Veterans Day and Memorial Day here in the United States.

A total of 41 German POW’s from World Wars One and Two are buried at Fort Douglas
