KAYSVILLE, Utah (News4Utah) – The detached garage of a Kaysville home is a total loss after a fire tore through the structure and caused it to collapse.

The Kaysville Fire Department was dispatched at 3:10 a.m. Thursday to the home located at 1135 South Foxtrotter Court.

Fire crews were able to get a quick handle on the blaze and prevent it from spreading to the home.

The family, who was at home when the fire started, was not injured. Since the fire did not spread to the home, they are still able to live there and won’t have to seek shelter somewhere else.

The Davis County Investigative Unit is looking into the cause of the fire.

Layton, Farmington, South Davis Metro and South Weber Fire were also called out to assist the Kaysville Fire Department.
