Former Salt Lake County Sheriff Jim Winder to join District Attorney’s Office

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News)- Former Salt Lake County Sheriff Jim Winder is leaving his position as Moab’s Chief of Police and coming back up north.

Chief Winder will be joining the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office as Chief of the Investigations Division, officials announced Wednesday.

“Jim’s leadership will help the District Attorney’s Office continue to meet the needs of the community and justice system. Jim brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position,” District Attorney Sim Gill said. “As Salt Lake County continues to grow and expand, we are building the infrastructure of leadership to best serve our residents.”

Two years ago, Winder left his position as Salt Lake County Sheriff to serve as Moab’s Chief of Police.
