Former Disney Channel actor indicted by federal grand jury

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 News) – Utah State charges against a former Disney actor have been dropped in exchange for federal charges.

A federal grand jury in Utah charged Stoney Westmoreland, 48, with one count of coercion and enticement Wednesday.

The charges come with a 10-year mandatory minimum sentence if convicted.

The actor appeared on the Disney Channel sitcom Andi Mack before he was arrested for allegedly trying to set up a sexual encounter in Salt Lake City with a 13-year-old he met online.

He as also appeared in other popular TV shows including several episodes ABC drama Scandal.
