Local News

PLEASANT GROVE, Utah – A group called, “Follow the Flag” is responsible for flying a massive flag they call “Big Betsy” in Pleasant Grove every year.  It takes multiple volunteers to hang old glory across the 11 hundred foot canyon.

The group says they want to unite patriots far and wide, honor vets and hometown heroes. Their new mission, “Fly with the Flag” invites every state to show their support by sending a flag. The group says every flag they receive will be flown in the canyon alongside “Big Betsy.”

The event runs from July 4th to July 8th with a flag ceremony on the first day at 7:30 the morning. A car show, live music, a 5k, motorcycle ride and cross-fit competition will be happening throughout the week.
