UTAH (ABC4 News) – Spring break is finally around the corner and that doesn’t just mean warmer weather. Utah natives know our state is filled with beautiful affordable destinations.
Hiking, biking or lounging around, there is a Utah adventure staycation for all. No plans this year? Consider a staycation
Here is a list of five staycation ideas:
Utah is known for the “best snow on earth.” Spring temperatures melt valley snow but make for beautiful sunny ski days up Utah canyons. The Cliff Lodge at Snowbird has lodging, dining, and skiing all in the same place. The Montage at Deer Valley is another mountain staycation destination perfect for close to home spring breakers.
Crystal Hot Springs in Honeyville is a natural wonderland. Spring breakers can visit the pools for the healing abilities of the mineral water. Crystal Hot Springs includes hot and cold springs. Hot spring temps rang for 120-134 and hold the highest mineral concentrate in the United States. They open just in time for spring break on April 1st.
Moab’s massive red rock formations and national parks hiking attract thousands of visitors every year. You can camp, glamp or cozy up in a hotel. Moab’s dinosaurs bones and archaeological artifacts create just enough adventure for a quick staycation.
The Homestead Crater in Midway is a geothermal spring hidden beneath a 55-foot tall limestone rock. According to Homestead Resort website, the crater formed when melting snow on the Wasatch Mountains seeped within the earth. There is a huge hole at the top of the crater letting sun and moonlight in. Spring breakers looking for an “out of this world” experience should check out the Homestead Crater
If you live in Utah chances are you have been to Lagoon Amusement Park, but did you know they have an RV park and campground to stay at? Lagoon opens Saturday, March 30th and will remain open on weekends through April and May.
