WEST JORDAN, Utah (ABC4 News) – Firefighters quickly stop flames from spreading in duplex fire Sunday morning in West Jordan.

West Jordan Battalion Chief Bryan Crump said they were dispatched to a house fire at 6443 S. Cyclamen Drive (5355 W) jat 7:51 a.m.

When they arrived at 7:53 a.m heavy smoke and flames could be seen coming from the back deck of the home, rapidly extending into the attic and living space of the home.

Crump said they were able to contain the fire quickly by going from the inside of the home and keeping the flames to the exterior as much as possible.

Crump said the home is part of a duplex and there were three occupants in that side of the home. The occupants, a man and two children all made it out safely.

There is heavy fire damage to the exterior of the home and a lot of smoke damage to the interior. An estimate was not currently available.

The fire is currently under investigation however Crump did say they believe the fire started on the deck.
