KEARNS, Utah (News4Utah) – One person was taken to the hospital Tuesday evening after he was pulled from a house fire in Kearns.
Unified Fire Authority dispatch received several calls reporting a house fire in the area of 5900 South 4000 West around 5 p.m.
When firefighters arrived, the initial crew began fighting the blaze. A second group of firefighters conducted what crews call a “rapid search” to clear the building of any people.
Hear information from fire officials on scene
Eric Holmes, Unified Fire Authority public information officer, said a male victim was rescued from a room on the main floor. It was not a room where the fire originated. The patient was treated by paramedics on scene and then taken to a local hospital.
Officials say the cause of the fire is under investigation. This is a developing story. More details will be posted as they become available.
