DEER CREEK (News4Utah)- A fire that erupted Wednesday afternoon near Deer Creek Reservoir is now fully contained, according to officials.

All roads in the area have been reopened.

Wasatch County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Jared Rigby said crews received calls just before noon about small fires near Deer Creek Dam. Thunderstorms moved in around 4:00 p.m. Fire crews say the fire received significant moisture from the storms.

Thursday morning fire crews say 381 acres have burned in the fire. It is 40 percent contained.

The cause of the fire has not been made available, but Chief Deputy Rigby said there were reports of a train in the area at the time the fire started.

Provo Canyon is still open, but Forrest Road 114 from Sundance to Cascade Springs is closed.

Cascade Springs from Midway to Utah County is also closed.

This is a developing story. Updates will be posted as they become available.
