Fire crews rush in burning West Valley duplex, save kids inside

WEST VALLEY CITY (News4Utah)- A  close call for a family in West Valley City Tuesday morning after a fire destroyed their home.

Officials say just before 7 a.m. the flames broke out in one of the bedrooms of the duplex near 5294 West 3475 South (Ali Cir.). 

Fire crews say the mom got out and called for help but told firefighters her kids were still stuck inside.

Crews arrived on scene and rescued the kids, one of whom was in a wheelchair.

The Utah Red Cross is helping the family with the next steps.
