Fire burns vacant SLC home

Salt Lake City, Utah (ABC4 News) – A home in Salt Lake City was damaged after it caught fire just before 9 a.m. this morning. 

Captain Adam Archuleta from the Salt Lake City Fire Department told ABC4 News neighbors and cars driving by the home at 840 South West Temple called 9-1-1 for help after seeing smoke coming from the roof.

Captain Archuleta said the home is currently vacant and is boarded up.

More than 20 firefighters from several SLC Fire stations responded to the call. It took firefighters only 10 minutes to put the fire out. It isn’t clear what started the fire. The fire is under investigation.
