The fire is burning an estimated 780 acres in the South Canyon area near the Avon-Liberty Divide. Smoke is visible from the south end of Cache Valley. It is reportedly 10 percent contained.

Crews from Cache County Fire District and Weber Fire District, Box Elder County, and the Forest Service responded to the scene.

Fire officials said the fire started by target shooters at a gun range in Liberty.
