Felon abandons Uber to flee police on foot

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah (News4Utah) – A felon wanted for kidnapping and robbery evaded police early Wednesday morning after a traffic stop. 

The Metro Gang Unit tracked the wanted suspect to a home in South Jordan in the area of 11400 South 3200 West.

Authorities say the felon left the house using an Uber, police followed and attempted to make a traffic stop. 

When the Uber vehicle stopped, the suspect got out and fled on foot. K-9 officers were dispatched to search the area but were unable to find the felon.

South Jordan Police do not believe there is an immediate threat to the public and believe the suspect is no longer in the area.
