UTAH COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) – A two-vehicle crash in Utah County has left at least one person dead on Thursday morning.
Utah Highway Patrol (UHP) says the fatal crash happened on SR-6 near milepost 154, about one mile east of Goshen around 5:48 a.m.
Authorities have identified the victim as Jared Bohman, 30, from West Jordan. He leaves behind a wife and three small children.
UHP says the crash happened when a Ford F-150 truck was traveling westbound on the highway. For “some unknown reason” the truck crossed the center line into oncoming traffic and struck another passenger car in a head-on collision.
The driver of the passenger car was killed on impact, says UHP. The truck driver was flown to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Authorities are still investigating the crash, but are considering impairment as a possible cause.
Lanes of travel along both directions of SR-6 were closed near the crash scene earlier in the day, but all roads have now been reopened.
Officials say residual delays are still possible for drivers in the area.
