Fatal crash in Spanish Fork shutdown Southbound I-15 for several hours

Fatal Crash on I-15 in Utah County

UPDATE: Southbound I-15 in Spanish Fork has been reopened after a fatal crash involving a semi and pickup truck early Friday morning. 

The man killed in the crash was identified as Kevin Miller from Payson. 

SPANISH FORK, Utah (News4Utah) – A crash involving a semi-truck and a pickup truck on I-15 in Spanish Fork shut down all lanes heading southbound early Friday morning. 

Lt. Todd Royce with Utah Highway Patrol confirms the driver of a Ford Ranger pickup truck was driving northbound on I-15 when he lost control of his vehicle and crossed the median.

The driver of the semi-truck driving southbound on I-15 in the same area did not see the pickup truck in time and hit it.

The man in the pickup truck was wearing a seatbelt but died on the way to the hospital.

Traffic is being diverted at the Benjamin exit while police investigate and clean up the accident.
