TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (News4Utah) – A fast moving blaze totally destroyed a mobile home in Taylorsville Saturday night.
Unified Fire Public Information Officer Keith Garner said the call came in around 10:30 p.m. of smoke coming from a mobile home located at 794 Mount Tuscarora Drive. When crews arrived the home was already fully engulfed.
Due to the threat to other homes, multiple units including Unified, Murray and South Salt Lake fire departments arrived and worked quickly to put out the fire.
All of the occupants of the home were able to escape, with the exception of the family cat, who is still unaccounted for.
Red Cross arrived on scene to help take care of the family affected by the fire. The home is a total loss.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, however the estimated damages are near $125,000.
