Local News

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (News4Utah) – Fans had a chance to meet some of their favorite comic book artists and writers at Valley Fair Mall at Wasatch Comic Con.

While there, News4Utah caught up with local artists like Phillip Sevy, who is the artist on the Tomb Raider comic books.

We also spoke to Kevin Eastman, the co-creator of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles which has become one of the most popular and highest grossing media franchises in history.

“Being a local show. you get to react a little bit closer. … I saw you at Black Cat or The Nerd Store. It’s really fun,” said Sevy.

Here we are 30 years later still doing conventions… the turtles are still a crazy popular thing. It’s mind-blowing to me. It’s so humbling and fantastic,” said Eastman.

When Eastman was asked who his favorite ninja turtle is, he said he actually likes April O’Neil, a friend of the turtles who happens to be a reporter.
