Fans across the country gather in Idaho Falls to watch the solar eclipse

Local News
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (ABC4 Uah) The Great American Eclipse came and went in what seemed like a short amount of time, but it left memories that will last a lifetime.

Even after the amazing special the reality of traffic problems have set in.

Many people we talked with decided to make a day drip out of it and not just from Salt Lake City. Several came from Las Vegas, and even as far away as Los Angeles.
There were reports of backups going into Idaho Falls and leaving Monday afternoon, but many said the trip was fine most of the way.

Many were so excited about the eclipse they didn’t seem to care about the backups.

“Yeah there were cars on the road, but it felt like field of dreams because there was this whole line of red tail lights coming up it was really cool,” said Melody Palmer, Salt Lake City
