CENTENNIAL PARK, Arizona (News4utah) – The family of Barbara Jeffs finally got their chance to properly say goodbye to her, 14 years after she died of cancer.
130 people showed up on August 30, 2018 to Centennial Park, Az including children, grandchildren and siblings of Warren Jeffs’ second wife Barbara who died in 2004. Many of whom were unable to attend the first funeral because she was buried at the Yearning for Zion Ranch near Eldorado, Texas which was considered a sanctuary for only those chosen by Warren Jeffs.
Barbara Jeffs was only 39 when she died. There was no viewing and her children were not allowed to participate.
The ranch belonged to the FLDS church until Texas seized the property in 2014. At that time, due to six other bodies being buried on the land, the state started working to relocate the bodies in order to sell the property.
Rachel Jeffs, the daughter of Warren and Barbara Jeffs said they did not discuss the plans to move her mother’s remains publicly out of concern others within the FLDS church would try to stop them.
Barbara Jeffs remains were flown to Las Vegas where she was transported to a family plot and was buried next to her dad Isaac Barlow after the services.
