Family of 3 and their dog displaced after a house fire in Ogden

OGDEN, Utah (ABC4 News) – A family of 3 has been displaced after their garage caught on fire early Thursday morning. 

The Ogden Fire Department responded to the house fire at about 1:10 a.m. near 1349 Lewis Peak Drive. Officials say the fire started in the garage and traveled to the attic. 

3 adults and their dog who were in the house at the time of the fire were able to escape the fire without serious injuries. 

The Red Cross was on scene and assist the displaced family with a place to stay, according to authorities. 

Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire but officials say the damage to the house is estimated at $80,000. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
