EUREKA, Utah (News4Utah) – Funeral services for both Riley Powell and Breezy Otteson were held today in Eureka. Their families came together to remember them and to tell their stories.

Family of the two wanted to memorialize them together since their last moments alive were spent with each other. Hundreds of people showed up to talk about the things they remembered most about the couple. Friends and family spent the time remembering the little things…

“Riley could cook a mean barbeque,” said Bill Powell, Riley’s father. “As far as I’m concerned he had the best steaks I’ve ever eaten.”

“Breezy loved to dance, she loved music, and she sure loved her Snapchat,” said Amanda Hunt, Breezy’s Aunt.

The families are trying to get the mines, where Breezy and Riley’s bodies were found, sealed.

“Our kids went in one,” said Bill Powell. “They weren’t planning on going in one and we want to make sure no one else’s kids go in one.”

Both teens went missing last December. A tip in March led investigators to an abandoned mine in a remote area of Utah County where they discovered their bodies.

The family said they are moving onto the next stage and hoping to get justice for the two teens.

Jerrod Baum was arrested in connection with the deaths the day after the bodies were found. If convicted could face the death penalty. He was officially charged with two counts of aggravated murder, aggravated kidnapping, and desecration of a dead human body. He was also charged with one count of obstruction of justice and possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person.

Baum’s girlfriend Morgan Henderson was charged with two counts of obstructing justice, second degree felonies, for failing to tell detectives on two occasions what happened to Riley Powell and Brelynne Otteson.

On March 25, Henderson “admitted to police that she had withheld knowledge about the disappearance of the teens and that she had in fact been present when they were murdered by her boyfriend Jerrod Baum.”

There will be another funeral services next weekend for family in Tooele. Bill Powell told ABC4’s Sarah Martin he does not want to go through another funeral service, but wanted to make sure that all Riley’ and breezy’s friends get to say goodbye.
