DRAPER, Utah (ABC4 News) – Friends, family and community members honored some of Utah’s officers during the 5th annual Fallen Officers Memorial 5K Run/Walk held Saturday in Draper.
Hundreds of people showed up at Draper Park, 12500 South 1300 East, to honor five different officers who have been killed in the line of duty. A short ceremony to honor the lives of those who made the ultimate sacrifice started the morning’s events.
The route was lined with flags and bagpipes played at the Sgt Derek Johnson Memorial Park. Every kilometer was also marked with a wreath and sign of one of the 5 fallen officers honored in this year’s run.
