Extra police presence at Richfield High School after social media threat recirculates

RICHFIELD (News4Utah)- Police in Richfield are on the high school campus Friday after school officials say a social media threat mentioning April 20th was reported.

Sevier School District Superintendent Cade Douglas said the original threat was reported back in January, but it was recently re-shared.

Douglas said authorities did investigate at the time of the original post, but he says the threat was unfounded.

The town’s local newspaper,The Richfield Reaper, reported the original threat mentioned April 20th, “National Marijuana Day”.

As a precaution, police were on campus.
