SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) – With Christmas on a Tuesday this year, the Utah Department of Transportation says Friday will be a very busy travel day on our roads.
Expect the heaviest congestion between 12 p.m. and 7 p.m. Friday.
“Friday is just this day when we expect just a lot of people on the roads,” said Zach Whitney with UDOT.
“The takeaway is, maybe try and avoid Friday, if there’s a way to leave a little bit later — maybe on Saturday,” added Whitney.
He says UDOT makes predictions based on data — and one of those data points is gas prices.
“This is going to be a very heavy road travel season. A lot of factors go into that — such as gas prices,” said Whitney.
