DUCHESNE, Utah (ABC4 News) – A Spanish Fork man is dead after he fell into Starvation Reservoir Thursday.

Officials say 79-year-old Peter Tomadakis was shore fishing at the reservoir with a friend Thursday afternoon when he slipped and fell near the northwest side of the Freedom Bridge.

He rolled several feet down the bank into the water.

Officials said his fishing companion was unable to help him and called 911. Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office and Utah State Park rangers responded.

He was pronounced dead by the time first responders reached him.
