WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah (ABC4 News) – A 65-year-old man, previously charged with forcible sexual abuse, was arrested Saturday after police said he has been continually exposing himself to young children.
According to police, they were called by the parents of a 10-year-old boy and 9-year-old girl who said an elderly man was, once again, exposing himself to them.
According to documents, the children told police Alexander Stewart, 65, dropped his pants in front of them while they were outside playing in the street.
The girl said Stewart has exposed himself to her on multiple occasions throughout the past 1 ½ – 2 years and a third child told police he was playing with the same girl and witnessed Stewart exposing himself to her, documents state.
All of the children said Stewart told them not to tell their parents.
Police noted in the documents; the little girl was very emotionally upset about the incident during the interview.
Police interviewed Stewart at his home. They said Stewart began to rock back and forth on the couch, and repeatedly touch his head while making the statement “here we go” several times, documents state.
Arresting documents state Stewart initially denied ever pulling his pants down, and exposing himself to the children but did say he occasionally “takes a leak” outside of the home as he would rather pee outside than inside.
Stewart admitted to peeing outside of the home where children and other individuals could clearly see him, documents state.
Stewart was arrested for three counts misdemeanor lewdness-involving a child under 14.
A record check of Stewart shows he was charged in December 2018 with forcible sex abuse after he reached inappropriately touched a nurse who was caring for an ill family member.
The woman told police it happened when Stewart asked for a hug and then he reached up her shirt and down her pants. When she pulled away and told him it was not okay, he said, “pretty please, I never get any”, charging documents state.
According to the same documents, Stewart told police he told them he wanted to see how far he could go with the nurse.
He is still going through the judicial process on that charge. His next court hearing is scheduled for June 4.
Police asked the courts to hold Stewart without bail until proper protective orders can be in place.
