Duchesne County man dies in early morning house fire

DUCHESNE COUNTY (ABC4 News) – A man was found dead after an early morning house fire in Duchesne County.

The body of Rickey Evin Wilberg, 66, was found Thursday afternoon after firefighters extinguished a fire at his home located at 3798 North 38200 West in Tabiona.

Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office said the fire was reported by a driver on nearby State Road 35 who spotted smoke and flames coming from the house just before 8 a.m.

The Duchesne and Fruitland fire departments were also called in to respond to the fire.

Officials said the cause of the fire is undetermined and under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.  Wilberg’s body was taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
