DUCHESNE COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) – Two male motorcycle drivers were transported to the hospital after they collided on SR-40 near milepost 93 on Friday around 4:15 pm.
48-year-old Robert Davis from Parker, Colorado and 50-year-old Mark Rice from Aurora, Colorado were both traveling eastbound on SR-40 when they came too close together. The collision was significant enough that Rice lost control of his motorcycle and was thrown onto the roadway, where he suffered a traumatic injury to his head. Davis was also thrown from his motorcycle as well and landed on the shoulder in the gravel, where he suffered severe road rash on his upper extremities and head.
Both were transported to the Uintah Basin Medical Center and medical staff decided to transfer Rice to IMC. He was flown by medical helicopter shortly after arriving at UBMC.
