Driver suffers critical injuries after single-vehicle rollover in Grand County

GRAND COUNTY, Utah (ABC4 News) – A driver is in critical condition after a single-vehicle rollover on Interstate 70 early Wednesday morning. 

According to a press release issued by the Grand County EMS, the agency was called to a crash at mile marker 164 on I-70 around 7:45 a.m. 

Deputies said the driver of a car was headed west when they lost control and rolled multiple times. 

Green River Fire, Grand County EMS, Utah Highway Patrol, Grand County Sheriff’s Office, MVFD & Classic Air Medical all responded to the scene. 

The single occupant was trapped and required extrication by Green River Fire. The patient was initially treated by EMS personnel before transferring care to Classic Air Medical.

The patient sustained serious, life-threatening injuries and was eventually transferred to St Mary’s Medical Center in critical condition.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by UHP. No identifying information about the driver was released.
