OREM, Utah (ABC4 News) – A driver was transported to the hospital on Wednesday after hitting a Utah Highway Patrol trooper’s car.

The incident happened at 11:30 p.m. southbound I-15 in Orem.

Troopers say the driver was traveling too fast for conditions and lost control before crashing into the trooper’s car.

Luckily, the trooper was not injured and the driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Officials say this the perfect time to remind drivers to slow down in snowy conditions and to always be aware of your surroundings.

Just last week, a trooper had to jump over a barrier to avoid being hit.
