UPDATE: Draper City Police say David Lee Jordan surrendered to investigators without incident Friday night around 6 p.m.

He was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for assault on a peace officer, failure to stop at the command of police, possession of stolen vehicle, criminal mischief and leaving the scene of an accident.

DRAPER (ABC4 News)- Police are looking for a man after they say he drove past a patrol car, stopped, backed up, and intentionally rammed into the officer’s vehicle.

It all started around 3 a.m. near 13400 South Minuteman Drive when officers say they were investigating a suspicious circumstance.

“Officers noticed a silver Ford F-150 with extensive front-end damage and a shattered windshield drive past them,” a press release stated. That’s when they say the driver backed up and rammed into the patrol vehicle before taking off.

Shortly after a Unified Police Department officer spotted a truck matching the description in Sandy, but the driver did not stop for the officer.

Investigators were able to identify the man behind the wheel as 24-year-old David Lee Jordan.

They say he has an extensive criminal history. If you see him call police at 801-840-4000.
