SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – The identities of a wrong-way crash that left two people dead this week has been released.

Authorities say the victims are Conner Van Skyhawk, 29, from Salt Lake City and Martin Salazar, 59, from Taylorsville (59) from Taylorsville.

Skyhawk was driving the white Ford Focus hatchback and Salazar was driving the FJ Cruiser.

UPDATE: 3/12/22 12:02 p.m.

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – Just before 5 a.m. Saturday morning, police received reports of a white hatchback entering I-15 northbound from the 600 S off-ramp travelling in the wrong direction.

As the hatchback was moving southbound in the northbound lanes, a head-on collision occurred with a blue FJ Cruiser near 900 S.

The driver, and only person in the car, of the FJ Cruiser was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt and declared deceased upon police arrival.

The driver of the hatchback was wearing a seatbelt, but was also declared deceased upon arrival.

Police are investigating the incident as a possible result of driver impairment on behalf of the driver of the white hatchback.

Names will be released pending notification of family.

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – Utah Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a double fatal crash from Saturday morning.

The crash reportedly happened at 600 S on I-15 northbound.

Authorities are advising the public to please use alternate routes if possible.
